A very happy (if somewhat belated) New Year! I thought I would start the year with an update of what’s happening in and out of the Salon.
We have masses going on this year, a new baby, a baby on the way, a wedding, charity event, makeovers and in between all this… we’ll be creating fantastic hair, nails, skin and looks to suit you and make you feel good.
We are starting the year with some lovely baby news, Danielle our colour technician at Hednesford has just given birth to a beautiful baby girl, congratulations Danielle.
Staying with the baby news, Sharna, one of our stylists at Hednesford will be leaving to have a baby in May, we’ll keep you posted.
More exciting staff news, Jodie one of our senior stylists at Chase Terrace is getting married in August this year. We love being part of our client’s weddings when we’re chosen to do their hair and makeup but it’s so lovely when one of our girls is getting married, even if I’m still having to convince Emma and Amie they can’t be bridesmaids! Again, we will keep you up to date and share the news and pics.
Training Our Team;
As always we will be getting out of the salon to train, inspire and motivate us all to bring you the very best we can.
At the end of this month some of the team are attending Pro Hair Live in Manchester, a great event that will showcase the best trends and products in the hairdressing world.
The girls in the beauty department will be working with Dermalogica this year so we can develop our facial menu and create bespoke facials and packages for our clients.
Alex will be on a course this month, and Kate will be meeting with a Dermalogica representative this month to plan and discuss new ideas for Boyd’s.
April completes her hairdressing training at the end of the summer, and has just entered the Wella Exposure 2017 competition, with this striking look. Good luck April, we have everything crossed for you…
We have just done a fabulous hair makeover on Barbara who won our 12 days of Christmas competition. We created a stunning new look for Barbara, she loved her experience and we loved making her look and feel totally different.
This made me think how lovely it would be to spoil someone with a similar treat…
Keep your eyes peeled for the launch of ‘Boyd’s Heroes’ Our makeover competition that will include a fabulous cut, colour and make-up.
We will be asking you to nominate a very special person… someone who has given their time, support, friendship, or has been totally selfless. (So start thinking!).
We will then pick a deserving winner for our special makeover.
Charity Fund Raising;
Another one of my bright ideas is a physical challenge to raise money. We will be attempting the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, which is a 24.5 mile walk to be completed in 12 hours, climbing 3 peaks.
The girls have decided to raise money for Diabetes UK this year which is a fantastic charity and touches most people either directly or indirectly.
The girls have assured me they will train for this challenge, I’ve told them I’ll be the first one to the top of each peak (nothing like a bit of healthy competition) Mind you, I think I should be sponsored to listen to all the talking I’ll have to endure on the 12 hour walk!
Another thing that’s concerning me is the head gear we’ve been given by the charity to raise awareness, as seen modelled by Emma & Sarah. I thought we were getting T-shirts!!
If you would like to sponsor us we will have the forms in both salons very soon, this would be so much appreciated.
As you can see we have a busy and very exciting year ahead. I’ll keep you up to date (I promise…) on any news as it happens.
Thank you for reading and as always, thank you for choosing us.
